States Scramble to Get Final BEAD Funding Approvals
Across the nation, states are currently in a synchronized phase of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. This alignment is leading to a steady stream of announcements for provisional awards from the “Benefit of the Bargain” round.
This new round, initiated by the revised BEAD guidelines released on June 6, originally set a September 4 deadline for all states and territories to submit their final proposals to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). Following a public comment period, the NTIA confirmed on September 5 that 36 of the 56 eligible entities had met the deadline, while the remaining 20 had received extensions. More states have since been added to the list of those with submitted proposals.
We have provided a comprehnsive list of each state’s provisional awards, organizations names, and monetary amounts.
