Ripple Fiber Announces $250M Expansion Into Washington
05 December 2025 | BEAD News
Ripple Fiber plans to expand its network into Washington state with a planned investment of $250 million. Initial construction is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks in the communities of Ocean Shores and Federal Way, located in Grays Harbor County and King County.
The company states that this is the first step in a plan to bring fiber broadband to more than 200,000 homes in Washington across the two counties. Initial customers are expected to begin receiving service in the first quarter of 2026. Ripple Fiber also reports that it plans to open a local office to support operations.
According to the company, Washington represents a strong opportunity for fiber deployment. It cites a Reviews.org report indicating that nearly two-thirds of residents in the state do not currently have access to fiber internet.
Company founder and CEO Greg Wilson said the expansion into Washington will mark Ripple Fiber’s presence in its ninth state and aligns with the company’s broader network growth strategy.
Ripple Fiber did not receive provisional awards from Washington in the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. However, the company did receive provisional BEAD awards in other states. In North Carolina, Ripple Fiber has a provisional award of $597,177. In South Carolina, the company has a provisional award of $296,227. South Carolina was among the first states to receive approval of its BEAD Final Proposal from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) in November.
Ripple Fiber states that additional details on construction timelines and service availability will be released as the project progresses.
