Recognizing the long-term growth trajectory of high speed data subscribers in our business, it became evident that securing a substantial IPv4 address space was not just a necessity but a strategic imperative for achieving our growth targets. The scarcity and high costs associated with acquiring IPv4 addresses, coupled with the inherent challenges posed by carrier-grade NAT, highlighted the urgency of our need current and future needs.
While this fundamentally contradicts the internet’s end-to-end principle by introducing potential failure points through intermediary servers, we realized this is the most efficient path forward given the current circumstances. Our goal has always been to continue providing unparallel internet services to our clients, without interruption, across all of our brads across the United States.
The Solution
To navigate these complexities of the IPv4 market, we partnered with Brander Group, a collaboration that proved instrumental in procuring around 340,000 IPv4 addresses for CableONe and multiple subsidiaries and sister companies since 2018. This partnership was crucial in aligning our acquisition strategy with our growth projections, ensuring that we could continue to scale our services without compromising on reliability or performance.
